10 ways to make money on a smartphone or tablet

10 ways to make money on a smartphone or tablet
We all know that smartphones and tablets can be expensive. But what if you knew of ways that you could actually earn money with your smartphone or tablet? What if I told you that there are apps out there that actually pay you? Because, yes, you can. For starters, you are going to need a smartphone or tablet. Next, it is my recommendation that you only do these activities when you are using wifi. I work from home, so what I do is set my phone next to me doing these various activities. I am earning a bit more money and since I am using my home wifi, it’s not draining my data plan. Also, many of these activities are videos, so you want to make sure that you are either plugged in or don’t have to charge your phone anytime soon. Sometimes after a few hours of doing these, my battery is almost empty. I also would set up a free email account somewhere just for these activities. That will enable you to keep everything in one spot while you are making money with a smartphone. It also keeps the spammy stuff out of your regular email. Now, who is ready to start making money with your smartphone or tablet? I was going to save this for Thrifty Thursday…but why wait 3 more days?

Some of these activities do require you to do more, but some are quiet passive. In fact, I know of many moms who use old cell phones or get new phones (freebie offers) and don’t activate them, but use them just in their homes to make money. Keep in mind, this is not “quit your job and retire early” kind of money. The most I have heard from a mom is earning $100-$200 per month from this stuff. So, you can put it aside for a vacation or for Christmas shopping.
SlideJoy-Despite the creepy name (at least I think so) this is pretty cool. How many times a day do you “slide” your phone open? What if you could get paid to do that? You can! If you are willing to do a couple extra taps every time you answer your phone, you are on your way to earning a few extra bucks. The app is basically paying you a few cents to look at their ads when you open your phone. When you see the ad, you either slide to the right or to the left, and your earning are the same and credited to your account every 24 hours.
Swagbucks-You may have used Swagbucks a few years ago, during the couponing heyday. I did too. And then I abandoned it for a while and just recently rejoined. Much of it is the same old Swagbucks, where you earn points for doing polls, surveys, printing coupons and stuff like that. But…now they have a new video section on the website and on the app. You can watch movie clips, commercials and other stuff and get paid in Swagbucks. Just from having my phone sit next to me while I am working, and running these apps, I can earn $1-$2 in just a few hours.
EntertaiNow– another video watching app that pays you in Swagbucks. Download, tap and start earning!
Moviecli.ps-android only, another video watching app that pays you in Swagbucks. Download, tap and start earning!
Sportly-android only, another video watching app that pays you in Swagbucks. Download, tap and start earning!
Indymusic.tv-android only, another video watching app that pays you in Swagbucks. Download, tap and start earning!
Lifestylz.tv-android only, another video watching app that pays you in Swagbucks. Download, tap and start earning!
Now, all of those apps above pay you in Swagbucks and they all have a daily cap of how many you can watch. But, if you just work your way through them while you are doing other things, there is a decent amount of money to be made.
PerkTV–PerkTV works on the same premise as Swagbucks TV, but it’s just a different one. Same thing–you watch videos and clips and commercials and you get paid in points. Redeem points for gift cards or Paypal. If you are letting this app run next to you while you do other things, you can earn a few bucks a day. Not bad!
Mobee-Mobee is more active, not a passive activity. But it’s very easy to use and if you have a few extra minutes, can’t hurt to check it before you leave the house. It’s an app, so you download it. It’s an app to link up mystery shoppers with assignments. So say you’re going to go out and run some errands. You check the app and it can tell you if there are any assignments near you. You find an assignment at your local grocery store and voila! Done! They may ask you to take pictures of products on shelves or other things, but you can earn a few bucks while you are out and about doing your normal errands.
Snap or Ibotta- These aren’t ways to earn income per se, but both are rebate programs. You install the app and then see what products you can get money back on. For example, right now on my Ibotta, there is a $0.25 rebate on milk. I’m going to buy milk anyway, so when I do, I take a picture of my receipt and the milk’s bar code using the Ibotta app. You can make “teams” using your Facebook friends and the more rebates everyone gets, you can increase your money back.
Keep in mind that some of these apps do have a web application so that you can earn money while on a laptop or desktop. However, then it’s not really passive income if you are sitting at a computer. But, if you try some of these apps and check in with them daily, you really could earn some decent vacation money or Christmas money. I have one mom friend who saved $1600 last year just from doing these apps. Have fun with it!
